Psychoanalysis today is questioned by some historians, above all by anglosaxons ones, so called Freud scholars: Frank Cioffi, Frederick Crews, Malcom MacMillan and others. They assert that even clinical data that psychoanalysis is based on, are not reliable. Freud was a liar, according to Cioffi’s assertion and the whole psychoanalysis must be rejected as pseudo-ermeneutics. My article introduces and updates the state of historical psychoanalytic research and the reason for its reliability.
