This paper analyses the problem of awareness of disease in psychoses as a help in the process of recovery. The concept of insight goes beyond the meaning of awareness of disease and it has a widespread meaning in psychopathology. To define the concept of insight starting from David’s model, this paper examines the correlation between insight and the compliance with treatment. This association connects insight to a better outcome and it offers the possibility to consider an approach centered on the patient’s resources rather then on the pathological deficit.[:]
