Photo therapy is a technique that mental health clinicians can use to motivate therapeutic discussions with clients. We found many examples of these techniques being used in individual and group psychotherapy but very little research on the symptomatological and functional outcomes. The purpose of this study is to describe the first data on the use of photos in group cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. Ten outpatients participated in weekly group psychotherapy sessions during which images were used to stimulate subjects to project their own interpretations and to open the mind to allow for emotional healing. The results were evaluated with the Health of the Nation Outcome Scale. Statistical data show a significant improvement from a psychopathological viewpoint and also on the level of functioning.[:]
